Scenes From an Italian Birthday Party

There is no bottle of red, by the way. It's just a bottle of white- formula.

So the party.

It was baseball-themed, because I must not have enough to do. Therefore it seems like a good idea to get all worked up over invitations and clever props and cakes that match. We had a hot dog cart, peanuts and cracker jacks on all the tables, enough balloons to float a high chair, and great music courtesy of Uncle Matt. He set up his cool iPod and we listened to a constant loop of baseball music- he even had cool organ music downloaded!

Almost everyone came in their favorite baseball attire, there was a bounce house for the kids, and enough food to feed the entire farm league.

Also? It was fun. You know how sometimes it is just impossible to have fun at your own party? Well, this was nothing like that. T and I both had a lot of fun- number 11,068 on the list of ways Johnny has changed us. Thanks, Johnny!

Johnny and Grampa- two of my three favorite outfits, the third being a Durham Bulls jersey, worn by one of our buddies.

He really didn't know how to feel about the singing. Really.

Why did I leave his outfit on? Dumb. Thank god for Oxi, because he will wear that Detroit Tigers onesie again.

One of these kids is doing their own thing. Their own thing meaning cheering for the GOOD GUYS, that is. Johnny was in outfit #2 by then, and not at all excited about the opening of presents.

It really was a great party. Maybe next year we'll have ponies!

And if you're serious about the pony, I can't wait til next year - Bandana goodie bags, Cowboy hat cake, invitations about "our little wrangler"...

I thought I told you, you're not invited next year. Also all of his parties will have a sports theme. 2yr- Football, 3yr-Bball, 4yr-golf, and for his gramps 5yr-Hockey. Then we will start the rotation (baseball analogy) with baseball.

T, didn't you tell Kelly that "good guys" in Chicago sports jargon ALWAYS goes along with "Good guys wear black" ?? I mean, seriously. I was looking for ONE Sox fan in that picture and found two. Hmmm...
It was a great party, everyone had such a good time. Also, T, great baseball analogy!

Yes, it IS a good analogy. And please don't anyone worry about us undergendering our boy... we're really trying not to!

Good guys ALWAYS wear white, I don't care what Hawk and DJ say.

The party was definitely awesome. I enjoyed watching the young man throw things left handed! Let's keep that right hand tied back for another year.
